final blog post

This class has been a fun and interactive class! I am grateful I took this class and got to learn the skills I gained in it. Thank you to the professor for teaching me even when it was difficult for me, this class got easier as I got used to the platforms we used. Making the portfolio reminded me of everything I have learned and I love to look back on all of the projects from this past semester. I also noticed how much easier it was for me to make this project than other projects i the past, so I easily saw that I have grown in digital media. Thank you for this class! (It would not allow me to put portfolio in this post. It is in dropbox:))

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF_fu1wcT0Y Any design project must include formatting, and the video demonstrated how to use InDesign's formatting tools to alter the way text and objects look. It demonstrated how to change the font's colors, styles, and sizes in addition to applying formatting options like underlining, bolding, and italicizing text. InDesign layout techniques were also included in the video. It described how to add and remove columns, change gutters and margins, and align elements on the page using grids and guides. This was especially useful for learning how to make layouts that are balanced and aesthetically pleasing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvO9QpPyXc4 This video also provided information on formatting but more about layouts and things related to graphic design. It shows how to enter text and how to make a page layout for any circumstance. This video was helpful and taught me how to easily make a page layout, kind of like in class. https://www.yout

Animation Blog

This Animation project was very challenging, time consuming, but also a fun learning experiment. At first, I thought I definitely could not do this project since it seemed so difficult, but after some time watching learning videos and understanding Photoshop, it became an easier job. I decided to base my project on saving the ocean because I wanted to send an important message on how easy it is for our generation to hurt the ocean and the living things in it. I believe we could be a lot more careful and educate ourselves how to fix this growing issue. I would enjoy doing a project like this again!

Somewhere

Image
For the Somewhere Project, I used an image of me in a dress and photoshopped myself into a scene from Gossip Girl. I just recently started watching this show and I love it so far. This show incorporates a lot of fashion into each episode which is something that I have strong interest in, so I decided to use an image of me dressed up to go with the scene. This project was fun to do and I like the way it came out. I believe I could have done better at the object selection but I did the most I could to make it realistic.

 1.  I believe this would be hard to photoshop myself into because of the tape there. I think this would be a very cool thing to photoshop yourself into though.  This image is one that inspired me for the somewhere project because this is a cool place to photoshop yourself into and I want to find a scene from a movie that has a similar idea. This one made me laugh because it actually looks realistic. This illusion is really cool since it shows how one thing can look totally different with editing/photography skills. This illusion seems easier than most.

BW to Color

Image
When doing this project, I had  a lot of fun seeing the colors using Adobe Color. I used an image of me, my roommate Charlotte, and our new kitten, Rufus. He is an orange cat and I used that color as the base for each picture. As you can see, the Complementary one color is green due to the fact that I thought we were supposed to use different colors at first for each one. I think that color scheme was cool but it does not go with the other two images. This project was fun and taught me a lot about the quick selection tool. The tool was easy to use but it took me a good amount of time to get the hang of it.

Tagbrush Blog: Kiana Andreoli

My TagBrush project was very fun as it was the first real time I understood how to use Photoshop and its tools. I started off with my logo that I created with Illustrator, and turned it into a vintage-looking tag brush project. I used the splatter look for the spray paint aspect and added colors that I felt brought out the aesthetic I wanted to bring. I think the purples, blues, and yellows ended up being a cool mix of colors and made an interesting art piece. I enjoyed creating this because it showed me how the tools in Photoshop can take my artwork to a different level and I believe I will use it for other designs as well.
