Ai HW #1

This video I found on Youtube introduces how to transform a sketch to a vector. This is basically taking one's sketch and turning it into an electronic finished drawing, creating the ability to edit and enhance the sketch. This video focused on the pen tool and the arrow tools (selection and direct select tool).  I believe the arrows will be difficult to use until I get the hang of it, but I do believe that this is a great tool to design. The pen tool also is a great tool that I think I would use to create certain shapes freely. I found this video very interesting and entertaining because the designs and illustrations he makes are extremely advanced and it showed me how much you can create with Adobe Illustrator.

This video that I found also uses the pen tool, but it mainly only focuses on the abilities you have with this tool. This shows how you can create vector-based designs. The pen tool is also used for logo creation and typography, which I believe I would use a lot in our class and outside of class. The man I the video highlights the pen tool as the most important tool as a designer. I believe it would be hard to create curves with the pen tool and I believe it will take time to expert this skill. He teaches how to do straight paths, and further along in the video he introduces curves (Bézier curves). I believe I will use the pen tool to create logos in our class or to do other projects. This video was very educational an interesting as he carefully showed how to create curves and control the pen tool, as he also includes how many uses the pen tool can have as a graphic designer (possible career interest for me).

This video shows many designs that the Youtube creator has created, and he goes step-by-step on how to design them through AI. This video highlights how to utilize the eraser, knife tool, and the scissors. I have not heard of all of these yet so I found this video very educational. These tools in the videos seem to have similar uses but he shows the main differences between them and when to use them. As he shows easier designs, the tools seemed easy to use, but it does seem to get confusing with the more detailed and difficult designs. I believe I will use these tools in our class to create logos, edit, and create shapes on AI. This video was very interesting to me due to the fact that I did not know how to use these or what they were used to create/do, but I definitely have lightly used them (and watched my teacher use them) in my high school graphic design class.
