PS HW 1

 




When looking at images that show immigration and family separation, it affects me on an emotional level due to the unimaginable things that it is doing to families and their lives. I feel so much empathy and worry when I observe the stories of immigrants who are literally forced to leave behind their loved ones. This image specifically shows a young girl asking for them to "free her dad", which shows her being left behind due to immigration. this is only one out of millions of people that have been left in this kind of situation. 

I am very sympathetic when seeing the the difficult choices that people need to make because of the reasons they may need to flee their home countries, for example, in quest of security, possibilities, or a better life. These people are likely to have to make difficult decisions that require them to leave behind their family members in the hopes of building a happier and better future, even if it means being apart from the people they are related to.


To show the way I connect to the world personally, I used this picture of me to show that I love to see and connect with different parts of the world. I love to travel and explore other countries and people of different cultures and lifestyles. In this picture, I was traveling the cities of Italy, and this one took place while we stayed in Venice, Italy. It was so beautiful and all of the people there were so kind and happy that it made the city and people so easy to connect and communicate with. Not only do I love building these connections, but this also allows me to learn and grow as a well-rounded person.

  This Animation project was very challenging, time consuming, but also a fun learning experiment. At first, I thought I definitely could not do this project since it seemed so difficult, but after some time watching learning videos and understanding Photoshop, it became an easier job. I decided to base my project on saving the ocean because I wanted to send an important message on how easy it is for our generation to hurt the ocean and the living things in it. I believe we could be a lot more careful and educate ourselves how to fix this growing issue. I would enjoy doing a project like this again!

Tagbrush Blog: Kiana Andreoli

  My TagBrush project was very fun as it was the first real time I understood how to use Photoshop and its tools. I started off with my logo that I created with Illustrator, and turned it into a vintage-looking tag brush project. I used the splatter look for the spray paint aspect and added colors that I felt brought out the aesthetic I wanted to bring. I think the purples, blues, and yellows ended up being a cool mix of colors and made an interesting art piece. I enjoyed creating this because it showed me how the tools in Photoshop can take my artwork to a different level and I believe I will use it for other designs as well.

BW to Color

  When doing this project, I had  a lot of fun seeing the colors using Adobe Color. I used an image of me, my roommate Charlotte, and our new kitten, Rufus. He is an orange cat and I used that color as the base for each picture. As you can see, the Complementary one color is green due to the fact that I thought we were supposed to use different colors at first for each one. I think that color scheme was cool but it does not go with the other two images. This project was fun and taught me a lot about the quick selection tool. The tool was easy to use but it took me a good amount of time to get the hang of it.
