Calligram: Kiana Andreoli

For my calligram, people may be confused on why I decided to design a bowl of noodle soup. This idea came across naturally to me when I was asked to create an illustration that represented what I wanted for my future. I mainly hope that in 20 years, I am still as connected to my family and my culture as I am today. This idea is represented through my illustration because this bowl of soup is a Vietnamese bowl that my family and I eat as a tradition. Before my grandmother passed, this bowl of soup with her was always a feeling of home. She was a big deciding factor on my choice for this project.  Today, we carry on this meal and I hope that in 20 years, my children are living with this tradition as well. My overall vision for this project was to use the Pho as a symbol for my culture and the cultured lifestyle I was gifted. I also wanted it to represent my grandmother as she is the reason that my family has this tradition. I want to make sure that my kids know exactly who she...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeLb0dy81Lc      This video I found on Youtube introduces how to transform a sketch to a vector. This is basically taking one's sketch and turning it into an electronic finished drawing, creating the ability to edit and enhance the sketch. This video focused on the pen tool and the arrow tools (selection and direct select tool).  I believe the arrows will be difficult to use until I get the hang of it, but I do believe that this is a great tool to design. The pen tool also is a great tool that I think I would use to create certain shapes freely. I found this video very interesting and entertaining because the designs and illustrations he makes are extremely advanced and it showed me how much you can create with Adobe Illustrator.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j69a3-shkGE       This video that I found also uses the pen tool, but it mainly only focuses on the abilities you have with this tool. This shows how...

IWWB Blog Post!  Kiana Andreoli The start of the Internet has been one of the most transforming inventions in today's world. The internet is a global computer network that sends different types of data and media across connected devices. This invention has allowed connections between computers worldwide. There are many contributors to the invention of the Internet. These individuals include Tim Berners-Lee, Paul Baran, Lawrence Roberts, JCR Licklider, Leonard Kleinrock, Vinton Cerf, Robert Kahn, and others, who are all of great importance. Berners-Lee developed the World Wide Web, a system that makes it simple to share and access information on the internet, even though he was not directly involved in the development of the internet. He announced this idea in March 1989. This is not the Internet itself, it is rather a "information management system". The concept of a "Galactic Network" which served as the basis for an idea of a worldwide computer network, was d...

Hello! My name is Kiana Andreoli and this is my first year attending the University of Tampa. I am from  Windham, New Hampshire and attended Windham High School! I am majoring in Advertising and Public Relations and plan to minor in Journalism. I've played cheer, lacrosse, field hockey, and tennis, but after playing, I have realized that my hobbies are outside of sports. I have always had a passion for writing, but I am still figuring out what I'd like to do with that. I also enjoy design and marketing after internships prior to college. Other than hobbies I do by myself, I also love to travel to other countries and see different cultures and different ways of life. Going to Italy and Vietnam allowed me to witness the lifestyles of where I come from. On top of this, I have always loved spending time with my family and friends. I have accomplished a lot in high school...
